Once your order is placed, I’ll send your Fingerprint Impression Kit out to you. You can either choose to gift this (it comes beautifully presented) or else produce the prints right away, and send them back to me using the pre-paid envelope provided.

Whilst it’s not possible to provide exact sizes as each fingerprint pendant will be different (the beautiful nature of these pieces!) a rough guide is below:

Original: 18mm - 22mm
Small: 15 - 18mm
Mini: 10 - 14mm
Tiny: 8 - 10mm

Please remember that it is the pressure you apply when capturing your impressions at home that will dictate the size/thickness of your piece. The harder you press, the larger your pendant will be.
It is the precious metal weight used in each pendant that is fixed, and which differentiates our sizes from one another.

There are many steps that go into producing your heirloom piece. First you’ll need to produce your print using our Fingerprint Impression Kit at home, then once it’s arrived back to me I prepare it for casting into precious metal. After that it’s sent off to the Assay Office of London, where it will receive its precious metal hallmark. Finally, once it’s arrived back to me, it’s cleaned, polished and then lovingly packaged and sent on to you. This takes around 3 - 4 weeks* (4-*5 for rings) however I’m a one man band so lead times can vary. You certainly can! Each Fingerprint Impression Kit is beautifully presented and makes the perfect gift (it’s more of a surprise that way)! Just order your piece and we’ll send out the kit the next working day.

I do! You can purchase any of my fingerprint pendants and use them instead for your pet paw prints. The process of capturing their prints is exactly the same - just use their paw instead of your finger.

Each Fingerprint Impression Kit comes with three pre-rolled balls of impression compound. This is to ensure you produce at least one perfect impression for us to use. If you still make a mistake, you can simply heat the compound in a bowl of lukewarm water, and re-roll it to try again!

If you can clearly see your fingerprint in the compound once pressed, it will transfer well into precious metal. Just remember to press firmly enough to get a deep print.

Just remember that whatever you see in the compound once pressed, will be visible in your finished piece, so try hard not to handle or mess with the print once taken. Also take care to ensure your work surface is flat, clean and dust free before using the impression compound.

That’s the beauty of these pieces - everyones fingerprint is different. Whilst your print may not be super defined, it is still your loved one's print and will look beautiful finished in precious metal. It’s worth noting that elderly fingers, and young children (12-24 months) may produce considerably fainter prints.

Please remember that everything you seen in your compound captures will be present within your finished piece. It is a direct swap from compound into precious metal, so it pays to take the time to get them right.

Whilst we will always reach out first if these are super noticable, or will ditract too much from your finished piece, it's difficult for us to know what are imperfections and what are features of your loved ones fingerprints.

So please do make sure you're happy with your captures before submitting them.

Of course! Just send me a picture quoting your order number to hello@noemieska.com and I will confirm whether or not the print is successful.

Please do note that whilst we will do our best to confirm suitability for you, we can not always tell what is an imperfection, and what is simply a feature of your loved ones fingerprint. That's why it's always best to take the time to get as clean a print as possible when capturing them. If you do have trouble with this, you can request extra compound to have further attempts with.

Alternatively, ask us about our ink capture process - these may be easier to obtain for younger children / older loved ones.

Gold vermeil is a high quality type of gold plating, bonded to a core of Sterling Silver. Vermeil is more hardwearing than standard gold plating, as the 18K gold is applied in thicker layers. When worn with care and stored correctly, gold vermeil jewellery can last several years before requiring re-plating, making it a great option for those wanting to wear gold jewellery at a much lower cost than solid gold. However, with daily wear your piece may become subject to tarnish far quicker, so be super careful to avoid your jewellery from coming into contact with creams/perfumes/makeup. If your piece does experience tarnishing, don't fret! It does not harm the piece itself and can be remedied by re-plating.

I offer a re-plating service for a fee of £60.

Please note: Gold Vermeil is much richer/yellow in colour than 9ct Yellow Gold, and so will not match any solid Gold jewellery you may already own.

I recommend having your finger sized prior to placing a ring order with us, as unfortunately, an incorrect fit will result in a further wait whilst we produce the replacement (not including the process of returning the original, and then re-delivery,) and incur a charge to produce a replacement. As your loved one/s' fingerprint will circle the full band, it is not possible to simply resize them.  

If you are ordering from overseas and are unsure of how to convert your size for UK, then please state the conversion you've used, for example: US 6.5, EU J ...

Over time and when worn with love, your jewellery may become dull or (in the case of Sterling Silver or Gold Vermeil) tarnished. Never wear your jewellery whilst swimming.
Harsh chemicals in public pools will wear on the metal and over time cause it to become brittle. Also avoid wearing your jewellery for prolonged periods in the sea, as the salt in the water (coupled with the heat of the sun) can cause your precious metal to weaken and become brittle - especially in the case of delicate chains.

Try to avoid wearing your jewellery to bed or when doing physical activities.
Delicate chains may become tangled or caught and too much strain will cause the links to weaken.

Always avoid exposing your jewellery to ... perfume, hair products, foundation, lotions, or other chemicals. Aim to apply these first and allow to fully dry before wearing your pieces, as over time your precious metal may tarnish.  Also avoid wearing your Sterling Silver or Gold Vermeil jewellery while exercising, or in direct sunlight, as sweat can quickly tarnish your piece.

To clean your jewellery ... use a soft non-abrasive cloth, or invest in a gold/silver cleaning cloth which will help to keep your jewellery sparkling for longer.

Yes, this can happen over time and is a natural part of how precious metal jewellery wears — especially in areas that move against other materials, like the bail where the chain passes through. Gold and silver are naturally soft metals, and even with occasional wear, the gentle friction of the chain can cause gradual grooves to form.

In some cases, wear may happen more quickly if the pendant is frequently adjusted or played with — something many of us do without even realising! This repeated movement can increase the rate of wear in that specific area.

That said, this kind of wear is entirely repairable — and we’re always happy to help. So if you notice any signs of wear, just get in touch and we can help.
