Why engraved jewellery is so special

Imagine slipping on your favourite outfit, one that makes you feel confident and bold, and then adding a subtle sparkle that is completely bespoke, made just for you. That is the wonderment that customised jewellery creates. A custom-made piece is something only you own – there are no two pieces like it. It’s made exactly the way you want it, or the way your gift-giver wanted it for you.

One of the most personal and beautiful ways to customise jewellery is through engraving. A specially engraved pendant, bracelet, or ring is a wonderful way to capture a special message that lasts a lifetime. Not only does it make a great gift if you’re looking to give someone something personal, but it’s also a fabulous accessory to have made yourself.

At Noémi Eśka, we’ve chosen engraved jewellery as our primary product, simply because it is so special. Engraving can help you treasure memories, celebrate important occasions, and capture someone’s most unique characteristic – their fingerprint. Hence, our fine fingerprint jewellery.

What types of engraving are there?

Although the craft of engraving jewellery dates back many millennia, there are two main types of engraving that are done today. These include inscription engraving and decorative design engraving.

Inscription engraving generally includes names, dates, or messages being inscribed on a piece of jewellery. Decorative design engraving can be done on a piece of jewellery to give it a unique design such as antique, floral, or sweeping patterns.

There is, however, a special third type of engraving – but more on that later.

How is jewellery engraved?

Although each jewellery designer or manufacturer has usually perfected the art of engraving in a way that suits them and their clients, there are two primary ways that engraving is done

The first is hand engraving which uses special hand-held tools to carefully remove small amounts of metal to create a design.

The second is machine engraving. This is when special technology is used, such as a diamond tip or a laser, driven by a machine, to make the engraving.

At Noémi Eśka, we use a laser engraver to create the engravings on our pieces for our clients.

Why engraving?

We’ve chosen to offer our customers the additional option of having the back of our fingerprint pendants or the inside of our ring bands engraved. Not only is your piece highly customised as it carries the fingerprints of your loved ones, but you can also have something inscribed on it.

From stylised text, handwriting, or even a doodle, you can engrave your Noémi Eśka jewellery with anything you can imagine, making it even more personalised and special.
